Waiheke Island: A World of Wine by Clare Dunleavy
Published by Beatnik Publishing, Hardback, RRP $69.95, beatnikshop.com

Meet the winemakers on Waiheke Island and discover the people behind the local wines you enjoy. A stunning book from Waiheke Island author and wine expert Clare Dunleavy
Step into our vineyards. Meet our people. Discover our story.

Waiheke Island is an internationally acclaimed destination producing world-class wine – but it didn’t start off that way. Meet the enterprising, determined and inspiring collective who planted vineyards and transformed this special place into an award-winning island of outstanding wines. Who are they? Where did they come from? Turn the pages. Pour a glass of wine. Celebrate their endeavours.

The individual stories add personality to a wine region that has an abundance of character and characters. The different chapters represent many diverse cultures and professions and are a microcosm of the wider world we inhabit.

Foreword by Bob Campbell, MW, and stunning photographs by esteemed Marti Friedlander (b.1928, d.2016) compliment this beautiful book.
