Takapuna War Memorial Hall, 5 The Strand, Takapuna, Auckland
Saturday 29 October 2016 3:00pm – 4:30pm
There is nothing little about Kim Evans’ Little & Friday empire. From the size of her mouth-watering cream donuts, the endless weekend queues outside her cafés, the 10,000 free-range eggs used every week, an impressive annual turnover employing over 70 staff and two phenomenally selling eponymous cookbooks, Kim’s Little & Friday story is, without a doubt, a big deal.
Today, Little & Friday has grown to four sites, open seven days a week, offering breakfast and lunch dishes to complement a legendary array of savoury and sweet baked treats, a tantalising-magnet for fans from all over the country.
Kim (above right) strives to ensure that Little & Friday doesn’t lose its original charm and the business stays true to its roots: a sustainable, family-based food operation that nurtures a community of staff, suppliers, and customers who share common beliefs around a respect for food.
Together, with Little & Friday chef Sophie Beck, Kim returns with her latest food journey in 'Little & Friday Every Meal,' a cookbook that shares all the magic of the café empire’s most popular recipes for every meal, as well as those special occasions.
Kim Evans will be providing a delicious afternoon tea of sweet and savoury treats, all taken from her new cookbook, and talking about her life and work at Little & Friday. Brancott Estate has very generously provided Flight Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc so that guests can enjoy a glass of bubbles on arrival. Non-alcoholic refreshments will also be provided, including tea, coffee, and juice.
Guests will be seated at tables of eight for the event, where they will enjoy a delicious high tea. Kim Evans will be available to sign copies of 'Little & Friday Every Meal,' which will be available for sale at the event; RRP: $50.00.
Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to meet Kim Evans, one of the North Shore’s sweetest success stories!
This event is proudly brought to you by Little & Friday, Brancott Estate and Penguin Random House, to support the work of the North Shore Libraries Foundation, who provide local libraries with additional funding for special projects.
