Sainsbury's is working with Random House to create short cookery e-books based on some of the publisher's brands.
The supermarket's e-books platform, eBooks by Sainsbury's, will sell a range of cookery e-books priced at 99p, with each one featuring 20 recipes. The books will be known as the Bite Sized range.
A range of books will come out over the coming months, beginning with Bite Sized Baking, collecting recipes from The Great British Bake Off: Showstoppers by Linda Collister, Brilliant Bread by James Morton and The Primrose Bakery Book by Martha Swift and Lisa Thomas.
Tim Lennox, m.d. of eBooks by Sainsbury's, said: "The Bite Sized e-book range aims to showcase some of the most successful cookery products on the Random House list and on our website, while enticing consumers to try out some of the recipes featured within these books, at a very reasonable price.”
He added: "The series, which will run over the coming months, fully demonstrates how agile we can be in turning our consumer insight into attractive and competitively priced products."
Throughout October, Sainsbury's has featured an e-book promotion offering 99 e-books for 99p, with a changing line up of titles that has included several big-name authors.
