Cookbook awards season in full force |
Last month we learned who the IACP nominees were; now we know the winners - Deep Run Roots by Vivian Howard was the star of the awards. The JBF recently announced its 2017 cookbook award nominees, but we have to wait a few weeks to learn who will reign supreme in that contest. Look for a few dark horse candidates in that race. The 2017 Piglet competition had its share of upsets and controversial reviews, but a winner emerged nonetheless. Congratulations to Asha Gomez's My Two Souths, which bested 15 competitors in that contest. |

The making of a cookbook collector |
It can start with a gift, a family heirloom, or out of necessity because no one in the family could cook. Before you know it, you're a collector! When Jenny shared her cookbook collecting story and asked EYB Members how they started theirs, the replies were fascinating. Find out how others began their collection, and share your own story, on the EYB blog » |

With over 120 books, March's roundup rivals the bounty of releases that usually arrive in the fall. Travel from the comfort of your kitchen with titles featuring the cuisine of Malaysia, Burma, Greece, and India. Immerse yourself in new releases from several renowned cookbook authors including Patricia Wells, Deborah Madison, and Annabel Langbein (it's her 25th book!). Plus Emily Thelin has one of the most touching titles this year, her bio/cookbook of Paula Wolfert called Unforgettable. There are several popular blogger books, too. See the complete list of new books at the EYB blog. |
