To
kick things off, Pete will be joined by his fellow chef and great mate Gavin
Baker, and together they will go Spanish in the South Island at Matakauri
Lodge for one big weekend April 11-13. At this fun-filled food and
wine weekend, Pete Pete and Gavin promise a fast-paced variety of flavours and creative
combinations from tapas to racions (larger plates), inspired by Pete's travels
in Spain and fond memories of San Sebastian!
A
welcome wine tasting with Duncan Forsyth from Mount Edward Wines will launch
the weekend festivities on Friday evening, followed by dinner prepared by
Matakauri Lodge Chef Jonathan Rogers in the stunning dining setting overlooking
Lake Wakatipu. Saturday morning will have Pete and Gavin sharing their
enthusiasm for Spain at an "up close and personal" cooking
demonstration, where they will chat to guests and impart some cooking secrets.
Saturday evening is the weekend highlight, a tribute to the great dishes of
Spain dinner prepared by Pete and Gavin, with Mount Edward wine matches.
The
following weekend, April 18-20 (Easter weekend), the fun moves to
Hawke's Bay in the North Island for the Pete Evans weekend at The
Farm at Cape Kidnappers. While
the theme here is healthy, and Pete is a great ambassador for that, he swears
that looking great and feeling great does not mean sacrificing flavour and
fun!
Pete
promises a fabulous weekend at the Cape, culminating in a Saturday night dinner
with dishes from Pete' s soon to be released book, "Pete Evans Healthy
Everyday". Pete will be joined by charismatic winemaker Tim Turvey
from Clearview Estate who will co-host the dinner and match the wines to each
dish.
Guests can chooses to make a weekend of it
and stay two nights, or simply book for the Saturday night and enjoy the
special dinner.
For guests staying two nights, the weekend at
Cape Kidnappers kicks off on the Friday night with welcome drinks and dinner
prepared by Lodge chef James Honore. On Saturday morning, Pete will entertain
at a casual cooking demo where they will showcase dishes from the book and some
insider tips from Pete on how he maintains balance in life and manages to look
trim, taunt and terrific despite a relentless pace.
The afternoon is free to relax and enjoy
all the great things about The Farm at Cape Kidnappers - golf, spa, farm walks,
etc., before the weekend highlight - the Saturday night dinner where Pete
serves a dinner guaranteed to change the way you think about healthy eating
forever, along with Clearview Estate matched wines.
Tariff* for either event for the Saturday
night is $800.00 per person +15% GST* per night based on double or twin
occupancy. *Tariff includes accommodation in a suite with pre-dinner
drinks and canapes and dinner each night, dinner by Pete Evans on the Saturday
night with matched wines, full breakfast, complimentary mini-bar (excludes
liquor and wine), and use of all lodge facilities including one 50-minute
massage per person during the stay. Cape Kidnappers event guests have the
choice of either unlimited green fees or a 50-minute massage per person per
stay.
Guests are encouraged to stay two nights to
take advantage of the welcome drinks and dinner on Friday night and the cooking
demonstration on Saturday morning, which is only available to guests staying
two nights. Wines with dinner on Friday night are not included in tariff.
